# Avoiding eqnarray

Since reading about its faults in [The Not So Short Introduction to LaTeX](https://tobi.oetiker.ch/lshort/lshort.pdf?ref=starikov.co) (highly recommended read), I've avidly stayed away from `eqnarray`. However, I don't think the book conveys the ideas as well as it should. Its suggestion was `IEEEeqnarray`, as opposed to the classically recommended `align`. [This article](http://www.tug.org/pracjourn/2006-4/madsen/madsen.pdf?ref=starikov.co) from the TeX Users Group conveys them more eloquently and provides better alternatives.
